Benue State has witnessed recurring communal and herder–farmer conflicts over the past years, leading to significant displacement of families and disruption of livelihoods. Many Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are currently living in temporary camps or host communities with limited access to food, water, and other basic needs.

This outreach seeks to provide immediate relief through the distribution of food packages to 100 displaced families in a selected village in Benue State. The intervention aims to alleviate hunger, improve nutritional wellbeing, and restore dignity among the affected families.

To improve food security and nutritional wellbeing among Internally Displaced Families in Benue State through the distribution of essential food items.

We aim Firstly, to provide food packages to 100 displaced families (approximately 700 individuals). Secondly, to support vulnerable households with nutritional supplies that can sustain them for up to one month.Thirdly, to strengthen community solidarity and demonstrate humanitarian concern for displaced persons.

And our target Beneficiaries amounts to a total of 100 families 

Our estimated population amounts to 700 persons (father, mother, grandparents, and 4 children per family)

Location is IDP-hosting village in Benue State (specific community to be confirmed in coordination with local leaders).

Selection criteria is most vulnerable households identified in collaboration with local camp or community leaders.

5. Expected Results

100 displaced families receive food support.

Immediate hunger and malnutrition risks reduced among approximately 700 beneficiaries.

6. Monitoring and Evaluation

Monitoring will be conducted through:

Verification of beneficiary lists prior to distribution.

On-site supervision during food distribution.

Beneficiary feedback collection to assess satisfaction and identify gaps.

Preparation of a final narrative and financial report for accountability.

8. Sustainability

While this intervention provides immediate food relief, it will also serve as a platform to identify households that can benefit from longer-term livelihood and empowerment programs. The outreach will strengthen community networks and foster partnerships for continuous humanitarian engagement in Benue State.

Conclusion

To conclude the proposed outreach will provide vital support to internally displaced families who continue to struggle with food insecurity. With funding support of ₦15,100,000, the project will bring hope, relief, and renewed strength to 100 vulnerable families.

This initiative is not only an act of charity but a moral and social obligation to restore dignity to those displaced by crisis.
